This Sat. Apr. 18th Jazz 1 & 2 will play at Steamers.

- Jazz 2 needs to bring over the music stands. They can take them hone Friday from school.
- Jazz 1 will need to bring them back from Steamers.
- It is recommended that you make a reservation. There is no charge for this.
Spaghettini Night Tues May 5 6:30 All bands- tickets on sale ( $15.00) on Spaghettini website. We sell out fast so please get your tickets early. (Already Sold OUT)
We will have an auction that night. If you have any items to donated, gift cards, maybe your child’s private lesson teacher will donate a free lesson, or if a few parents want to go in on a basket that would be helpful. Our last auction at Spaghettini was a big success!
Shops at Rossmoor- All bands – Sunday May 31st 4-6 pm We are already checking into a few of the shops to see if they will participate in a restaurant fundraiser for that night. If anyone has any connections please let me know.
Spring Concert: May 19th 7 pm
Banquet- Open to everyone- June 2nd 6-9 pm Old Ranch Country Club.
Thank you David Taga for offering to put together our DVD He is in need of any pictures of all the bands. Please send them to firstname.lastname@example.org They could be of performing or group shots of kids just hanging out at the festival.
Those who ordered DVD’s from Class Notes, I do not have a date yet of when they will be done. I know last year it did take about 6 weeks. I will keep you posted.

Thank you to those who came to our booster meeting last night. Here are some updated information for you.
Spaghettini Night– Tues May 5th Tickets are on sale on their website $15.00 – all bands perform
Spring concert– May 20th at 7 pm. in PAC
Shops at Rossmoor Sunday May 31st 4-6 pm by Peet’s Coffee- All bands perform
End of year Banquet Tues June 2nd 6-9 Old Ranch Country Club $40.00 per ticket- students must have a ticket. Please send me any photos you may have from this year. I am also looking for someone to make the dvd that would be played that night.
I am still in need of someone handling our Twitter account.
If you are interested in being our Booster President or our Webmaster for next year please let me know.
Once I have the minutes from our meeting I will send them out- along with any information I did not include in this email.

Picture day is Feb 10th Tuesday- during class– full uniform!
Class Notes is coming up — March 7, 2015. Tickets will be for sale soon.
Here is the order form for Class Notes Shout Outs, and advertising. If you know anyone who may want to purchase an add, please forward to them. These are due Friday, Feb 13th This is a great way for our school to make extra money.
I need someone to be in charge of the raffles for Class Notes. We have a mini iPad donated already, but need some more items. Please contact me!
Just a reminder we still have Spaghettini tickets for sale. Come hear a great band, have a nice evening out, and check out our great auction items – auction starts at 6.
Movie passes, Dinner out at the Fish Company, and a few other local restaurants, Premier Angel Diamond Club tickets, and 4 hours recording time at The Wood Shed, just to name a few. Thank you for those who donated, I am still taking donations this weekend.
Poinsettia orders are due on Tues. the 18th Please put in box in band room- Please don’t mail orders to PO Box after tomorrow- we may not get them in time. If you forget your order email me and we can take care of it. They will be delivered the week of Dec. 8th
The T-shirts are in for those who ordered. If you haven’t paid please do so before they will be given to your child. I will be out of town part of next week so I will bring them in after Thanksgiving.
Concert: thank you for those who are donating food and drinks. We will still need a few volunteers to sell tickets pass out programs ( a great community service for siblings) We will need help at the bake sale table before and during concert. Let me know if you have a half an hour to spare.

I have attached the minutes from our Booster meeting last week. Here are a few highlights:
- Spaghettini fundraiser is coming up on Nov 18th Tickets still available. Students welcome
- Winter concert Dec 9th 7-9 pm- donations for bake sale are needed. People have signed up. We could use cases of water and some soda. We will need parents to work bake sale and ticket sales.
- Nov. installment of donations are due $150.00 (total of $300.00)
- Disneyland- all bands going- Buses were not included in budget. Bus fee will be divided by all students.
- Jazz 2 dress shirts- I will send out a separate note to those parents.
- Limited addition Ornament – see attached $10.00- We have already sold quite a few. Let me know if you would like one.
- Jazz 3 will not be attending Reno this year.

Thank you for those who attended the Booster meeting on Monday night. For those who were unable to attend, here is some information for you.
See the flyer for our CPK day/night on Wed. September 24th. Our fundraiser is all day and until the evening. Please pass this along to any of your friends and family to support our Jazz Band.
Picnic date change: We needed to change the date again, due to conflicts with Marching Band ( which includes some of our Jazz band students ) Final date Saturday Oct. 4th 1-4 pm place tba

Welcome, new and returning jazz band families! Congratulations to all of you for supporting the program and being an active member of the booster club.
The purpose of the Los Alamitos Jazz Band Booster Club is to provide support and promote our students’ love for jazz. We are fortunate to have Mr. John Rush as our students’ music director. Mr. Rush provides uncompromising commitment to the LAHS Jazz Band Program. He goes that extra mile to motivate and prepare our students in this highly competitive field in which our students have chosen to investigate, experience, and, ultimately, enjoy. Continue reading
Here is a brief summary of last night’s meeting (3/31/14):
Upcoming dates: Sectionals this Thursday (4/3) for all 3 bands same times as before.
Spaghettini date change to Tues. May 27th – Banquet date will be changed (TBA)
Steamers show for Jazz 1 // Sat. April 19
Rehearsal 9-12am at LAHS [ lunch provided by Mrs. Blumenthal ]
Call time 3:00pm at Steamers- Perform 4-6 pm make a reservation to reserve a great seat.
Spring Concert May 20th 7 pm.
Don went over treasurer’s report. Still in need of our $300.00 donations. We will need to go into our reserve to pay for a few upcoming expenses. We are still accepting donations.
Jazz 3- discussed possible trip to Oceanside on April 26th I will be sending out a separate email to Jazz 3, to let them know expenses etc. The parents will need to vote on if they go or not. I will also need a Jazz 3 parent to help plan this event.
Patricia Crew went over Reno for Jazz 1 & 2. She will be sending out info this week. She MUST have packets by Wed. She needs 5 from Jazz 1 and 4 from Jazz 2. She had a sign up sheet for Wed night drop off ( clothes, instrument and snacks) ( April 9th 5-7 pm) We will need a few more parents to help with that.
