Josh and Sherry,
Please join me in Congratulating Los Alamitos High School Jazz 1 for receiving 2nd place in the AAAA division of the California Alliance for Jazz State Championships. This prestigious state wide jazz championship award is given to the most outstanding jazz programs in High School and Junior High Schools in the state of California. “We are thrilled and honored to be selected as one of the top jazz band programs in the State of California.” This is the first time the jazz program has competed in this particular Jazz Championship.
Here is a list of our outstanding musicians led by our seniors Bobby Burton, Adam Hansard, Dean Reeves, Cameron Thrower, Jason Watts and Donny Zeccola. We would like to thank our wonderful jazz booster parents for all their support and the LAHS administration and staff for their support and recognition throughout the year as well.
Please join us at our end of the year Spring into Summer Concert Tuesday May 20, 2014 in the LAHS P.A.C. featuring Jazz 1 performing with an award winning vocalist from our Show Choir singing Michael Buble’, Energy filled Jazz 2 and the young but very talented Jazz 3. Also performing that evening is the String Orchestra with special Senior guests Chris and Ben Yeh performing Vivaldi’s double cello concerto and a combined Full Orchestra performing music from the Lord of the Rings motion picture soundtrack and much more. I hope to see you all there.
All the Best!
